I've been in ministry for 33 years and this is the best set of New Testament commentaries that I own. They address the gospels in order, a verse at a time, making them helpful for both topical and lectionary preachers. Each text is dealt with from four different perspectives, written by a variety of authors, professors, and clergy. Buying the full seven-volume set does save you money in the end, but if you can't get them all at once, buy them one volume at a time. With the exception of Mark, there are two volumes for each of the other gospels. The books themselves are well-made hardbacks which should last for many years.
Excellent set of commentaries. Good shipping.Parallel format with perspectives by several commentators is quite helpful for preaching/teaching preparation. Provides a useful contemporary perspective.
