While immensely helpful for anyone starting a language services business, the book will also offer a few eye-opening insights to any industry veteran.For me, the question left after finishing the book is this: ok, this sums up the present state of things very well, so what's coming next?

It made me reflect on the vision for my company and underlined what matters most - the value we provide to our clients and how to increase this value. This book , as advised in the beginning of it, was written with great mood and was intended to give the authors' view of the Language Service Industry and not to bore you to tears! They did it! :) And according to them this industry is underserved by structured information and also is widely unheard of by many other industries and management consulting firms alike. It depicts a very reasonable model of a "Translation Company", which, in fact, goes much beyond that, because they explore the value chain as a whole. Each component of the model, beginning from 'market influencers", "support activities" and then "core functions" of a Language Service Provider (LSP) is then detailed.Renato and Tucker seem to have a perfect combination of experiences and styles to write this book. I couldn't stop reading it and it certainly helped me a lot to put things into a different perspective, together with inviting me/us to action.However, don't expect it to be a detailed guide on how to structure your business, but this can be a great guide to positioning your business in the Language industry, together with pottentially influencing your management.
