I bought this for a 10 year old and it may have been a little too mature for her, since there is an anatomy portion. Only a couple pages but it does show breasts and butts. Other than that this book is amazing! It’s a long book which covers pretty much everything.
Good book. I've tried to sketch before but being that I have no innate talent I never did well. I'm surprised at how one can learn how without necessarily having talent. It is rather a set of skills that even I can learn. My main problem now is overcoming my personal doubts. Progress is slow but noticible.
Great book. Would recommend even for absolute beginners like our family.

I grew up on Walter Foster books. Heck, they were even recommended by the instructors in art college! As a professional artist, I probably go back to the OLD Walter Foster books more often than any. This book is like the best of all their earlier publications on drawing. Not too impressed with their newer publications. This book, is wonderful! I purchased this for our grand daughter who is a young but talented aspiring artist. I told her no matter how in the future you feel about this book, hold on to it because I guarantee that you will go back to it many times.I bought myself a copy for my library as well.
I am no artist, but this has the basic information and examples that I needed. Saw it at Michaels for much more and checked with Amazon the the book. Got it. If you are looking for a good beginner book, it's the one.
This is an excellent book for anyone who want to learn to draw. There are chapters on all subjects, for example, materials used, landscape, animals, people, plants and flowers. Then after you do drawing exercises on the concepts you read about. It’s helped me to evolve faster as an artist. Happy drawing!
